# AIDA Funnel: How to Build a Carousel That Drives Action

Canonical: https://usecardume.com/en/blog/aida-funnel-instagram-carousel/

The AIDA funnel is a four-step script: **Attention, Interest, Desire and Action**. In a carousel, each step becomes
one or two slides: the cover grabs attention, the next slides hold interest, the proof builds desire and the last
slide asks for **one action only**. Follow this order and your reader never reaches the end without knowing what to do.

## Why your carousel gets likes but no bookings

Plenty of people who see clients post a good carousel and get likes, but nobody sends a DM. Most of the time the
problem is the order: the content explains everything and forgets to ask. Or it asks on the very first slide, before
the person has a reason to say yes.

AIDA fixes this because it gives the reading an order. Each slide has a job, and the last one has the most important:
saying what to do now.

## The four steps, slide by slide

### Attention: the cover (slide 1)

The cover has one task: make the thumb stop. Promise the result in one short sentence, in a way your audience
recognizes itself. A question your clients actually ask works well, and so does a number.

Example for nutrition: "Do carbs at night make you gain weight?"

### Interest: the problem and the twist (slides 2 and 3)

Here you show that you understand the doubt and that there is a simpler way. One slide describes what the person
lives with today. The other gives the first answer, short, so they want to see the rest.

Example: on slide 2, "Cutting carbs at night seems to be everyone's rule". On slide 3, "What matters more is the
day's total, not the time".

### Desire: the proof and the result (slides 4 and 5)

Desire is the person seeing themselves on the other side. Use a concrete example, a situation from your practice or
the before and after of a habit, without promising a result you don't control. One slide shows the case, the other
shows what the routine looks like.

Example: on slide 4, "A patient swapped a heavy dinner for a balanced plate". On slide 5, "Today she eats dinner
guilt-free and without counting anything".

### Action: the ask (slide 6)

The last slide asks for one thing. Two actions split the attention and the person does neither. Be specific with the
verb: "Send me a DM", "Book through the link in bio".

Example: "Want a plan for your dinner? Send me a DM."

## The 6-slide sequence to copy

| Slide | Step | What goes on it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | Attention | The client's question as the cover |
| 2 | Interest | What the person lives with today |
| 3 | Interest | The first answer, short |
| 4 | Desire | The concrete case |
| 5 | Desire | What the routine looks like after |
| 6 | Action | One ask, one verb |

Six slides fit any niche: swap the question and the examples and the structure stays the same. For the step-by-step
of putting it together, see [how to make an Instagram carousel](/en/blog/how-to-make-an-instagram-carousel/).

## The step that takes longest: writing and designing each slide

You already have the structure. What eats the gap between two appointments is turning each row of the table into
short text and a look that feels like yours, without losing an afternoon in Canva.

> **Cardume builds the slides with your colors, your niche and your way of talking.** Paste your @ and skip this step. [Do this step with Cardume](/en/?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=funil-aida-carrossel&utm_content=meio)

If you still don't know when to post, see [how to create an Instagram content calendar](/en/blog/how-to-create-an-instagram-content-calendar/).
And if time is short, the method in [how to create an Instagram post in 10 minutes](/en/blog/how-to-create-an-instagram-post-in-10-minutes/)
pairs well with AIDA.

## How to do this in Cardume

3. **Download and post.** You download the slides and the caption and post whenever you want. Cardume does not post for you.

Cardume takes care of the look and the base text. Read it before posting and adjust whatever your profession's regulations require.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does AIDA stand for?

It stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. It is an order for guiding the reading: first grab, then hold,
then show the result and, finally, ask for an action.

### How many slides should an AIDA carousel have?

Between 5 and 9 fits the whole sequence without tiring the reader. The example above uses 6: one for attention, two for
interest, two for desire and one for action.

### Do I need all four steps in every carousel?

For a carousel that leads to an action, yes. If the goal is only to teach something, the cover and the body are enough,
but the last slide should still say the next step.

### Does Cardume post for me or ask for my password?

Neither. You download and post whenever you want, and Cardume only reads what is public on your profile.

### How much does it cost?

Your first carousel is free. To keep going, Cardume Pro costs $9 per month on the yearly plan ($108 per year) or $13
monthly, with 30 creations per month. There is a 7-day guarantee and you can cancel anytime.
